Three Essential Prospecting Tips To Recruit More Reps / Consultants

Prospecting tips are all over the internet but my hope is that these three will put you in the right frame of mind when connecting with your leads.

In this industry your best friend is the phone, and your mindset combined with talking to several prospects on a daily basis. This is what will ultimately cause you to succeed. There is one thing for sure, this business is built on relationships and that will never change.

Some of the biggest names in this industry will tell you it was the relationships they built with people who caused them to get where they are today. Learning to interact and build your people skills will be the best thing that you can develop bar none.

For some, learning and connecting with people is the hardest skill to develop because they feel like they are selling people. I believe the biggest prospecting tips that I am listing here are key to seeing success when connecting with people.

Prospecting Tips – Have an abundance mentality

Prospecting TipsThe first of our prospecting tips is getting rid of the “I need to sponsor someone” mentality. This starts by emotionally detaching yourself from the outcome of that person joining you or not.

The exact second you become really needy, is the second you begin to repel people from you. Nobody wants to get that weird feeling of someone who needs them to have success. It gives people weird vibes and will cause them to run in the other direction away from you.

It’s like 2 magnets with the same polarity, as one pushes closer, the other is pushed away. This is what you want to avoid when speaking to prospects. Having an abundance mentality means getting the mindset that you always have more than you need of everything, more money, more opportunity, more leads, and more prosperity.

This is probably the most important of all prospecting tips because it sets the foundation of all the others to work properly. Your prospects can see your motivation a mile away, make sure it reflects an abundant mindset.

Prospecting Tips – Be confident in the value you have to offer

You might be thinking that you don’t have any value to offer, but if that is what you are thinking, that is exactly my point. If you don’t feel you have value to offer, there needs to be a fundamental shift in your way of thinking. People only join others that they perceive to have an equal or greater value than themselves. If you don’t get confident in your value as a sponsor, people will never join you.

Every person on this planet has some sort of value to offer. Even if you are not a huge success in network marketing you still have value to offer. Figure out what that value is, apply these prospecting tips and remain confident in it, because that will make all the difference.

This is one of the prospecting tips that really put you in a place to reap great success when recruiting leads.

Prospecting Tips – Practice and repetition breed confidence

This is the golden nugget in this entire article on prospecting tips. Practice, practice, practice, and more practice! Did you get that? lol

Now if you are not generating enough of your own leads yet, you really need to find an economical way to get the practice you need, that won’t break the bank. My suggestion would be to go and buy some low-cost business opportunity leads so that you can call them and get the practice on the phone.

There are hundreds of lead vendors out there that sell business opportunity leads. They are all pretty much the same, so my advice is just buy the most you can, for the least amount of money.

I normally do not recommend biz opp leads because they are not very targeted, and really don’t convert well, but for building confidence and getting practice on the phone they are perfect for the beginner to start applying and getting confident with these  prospecting tips.

Ultimately you need to learn to market and generate your own leads through a system. But fundamental phone skills is extremely important in this industry and will set the foundation for years of success.

So what is the takeaway with these prospecting tips?

It’s simple. Understand that there is millions of people out there. If one says NO. You have virtually an unlimited pool of prospects to choose from so don’t get down on yourself.

Also be confident in what you have to offer in terms of value to those that join you. If you are not confident in what you have to offer someone who joins you, they won’t be confident in you either. And thirdly, you need to practice to build your confidence. Get on the phone, apply these prospecting tips even if your terrified, DO IT!

The best way to break through is to plough through your fear not chip away at it. Get on the phone and by the time you get to your 5th or 6th call, you will feel the momentum begin to build and you will be on your way.
