Make that Warm Market List and launch your business.

“I have always lived my life by making lists. These vary from lists of people to call, lists of ideas, lists of companies to set up, lists of people who can make things happen. I also have lists of topics to blog about, lists of tweets to send, and lists of upcoming plans.

Each day I work through these lists, and it is by ticking off each task that my ideas take shape and plans move forward.” By Richard Branson

When starting out in a new business start a list of your warm market

Why you ask ? Your sole objective is to let people know that you have a business; what it consists of and who you are looking for as customers and business partners.

You are simply notifying  your warm market about your business and what each person does with that knowledge is up to them. You are offering something
of value, that you believe in and the idea is not to bug or badger anyone. Just notify!

Your Warm Market–Your Most Valuable Business Asset For those of you who are new to the concept of Direct sales , you may not be too familiar with the term “warm market”. What is it? And why did your sponsor ask you to begin by creating a warm market list?

According to Mark & Rene Reid  authors of Your First Year in Network Marketing: “A ‘warm list’ is a group of individuals from your past and present whom you know well enough that were you to pick up the telephone and call them, they would recognize you once they heard your name.” In other words, these are your personal friends and family, who you would feel most comfortable speaking to normally. People in your circle of influence, who you know on a first name basis.

As a matter of fact, statistics show that by the time you are 30 years old (some say 18 years old), you actually have met and know, at least, 2000 people on a first name basis! Isn’t that astounding?

Now, imagine getting all those names down on paper or on a spread sheet?

How Many Are in Your Warm Market? Your Warm Market Mark Reid suggests beginning with creating an initial list of 2000 names, then growing your list to 3000 names in your first 30 days. You would do that by creating your list using a Memory Jogger, then continuing to add to your list during the first month. You would also add new contacts you meet through your existing warm market or cold market leads as they become your warm market.

How does a cold market lead become warm? You simply say “hi” to people, then show interest in them by giving a compliment and asking a few questions about THEM. Don’t say anything about your business. Get their contact details, then follow up with them later. Now you can add that person to your list!

Can you see how easily this list can grow? And why it would be your most valuable asset? If not, let me tell you that one of the things every direct seller runs into eventually is running out of people to talk to. If you seriously take the time to create a massive warm market list from the beginning and maintain that list by continually adding to it, you will never run out of leads.

Objections about the Warm Market

At this point, the thought of creating a list of 40 might seem astounding to you, much less a list of 100, 200, and definitely not 1,000! But 2000 names?! I know. Seems impossible, but believe me. If you use the right tools, such as a Memory Jogger, you will be surprised how many people you actually know.

My business partner and I once got together for a Power Hour. We pulled out our Memory Joggers and together went through the list. At the end of two hours, we each had 400 plus names on our lists. Of course, we were astounded, but we’re living testimony that it works.

I have a free gift for you to down load and use Memory Jogger 40 names in 40 minutes

Here are some common misconceptions about notifying your warm market.

1 I need to know everything about the business before I contact anyone.  Direct sales  is a simple business and there is not that much to know. Your sponsor and upline are there to support you and provide this assistance. There are tools and systems offered by the company that you will use to make this simple. Your excitement and enthusiasm will go a long way with your prospect.

2  I want to be successful first, before I contact anyone I know. As was stated before, you aren’t doing anything but notifying. That is your one business obligation – let people know. If you can’t start with that, where are you going to start and how are you going to generate the success you want to get you to the point of letting your friends and family know about your business?

Remember we aren’t in the business of convincing, harassing or bugging anyone. We are in the business of networking. We network our products and our opportunity and provide more details to those who are interested. That’s it.   So, make that Warm Market List and launch your business.
